Discover the unique challenges of performing when the scene has already been filmed.

This hands-on ADR (Automated Dialogue Replacement) intensive gives actors the opportunity to explore the process of recreating and recording a performance in sync with existing footage. Actors will work on maintaining the intention, emotion, timing, and spontaneity of a performance while adapting to the technical demands of the recording studio.

The experience begins with a 3-hour Zoom preparation session on Sunday, November 8th from 2:00–5:00 PM, where participants will work with selected material, receive coaching, and prepare for their individual studio sessions.

Actors will then head into Deadpan Studios on Saturday, November 14th for a 4-hour professional recording session, where they’ll step up to the mic and experience the ADR process firsthand. Each actor will receive dedicated recording time, direction, and the opportunity to build confidence working in a professional studio environment.

Participants will also have the opportunity to record material that can contribute to a small voice reel, including animated, narrative voice-over and/or commercial material.

The Program Includes

  • 3-hour Zoom preparation and coaching session

  • Material selected specifically for ADR and off-camera performance

  • Performance coaching and preparation before the studio session

  • 4-hour professional recording session at Deadpan Studios

  • Dedicated individual time at the mic

  • Experience matching performance, timing, and intention to existing material

  • Opportunity to record material that can contribute to a small voice reel, including animated, narrative voice-over and/or commercial material

  • Professional direction and feedback throughout the process

Limited to 10 actors to maximize individual recording and coaching time.

Ideal for actors who want to broaden their professional skill set, gain practical ADR experience, and explore voice performance in a professional studio environment.
