DESCRIPTION:
The Working Actor: Advanced Practice is an elite six-week training program designed exclusively for graduates of The Working Actor programs who are prepared to operate at a truly professional level. This intensive course pushes performers beyond foundational technique into the demands of modern film and television production.
Actors will be challenged with sophisticated blocking, dynamic moving-camera environments, high-pressure ensemble work, emotionally charged scene work, and the technical precision required for green screen, VFX integration, and continuity-heavy shooting. The curriculum mirrors real on-set expectations, emphasizing adaptability, professional discipline, and nuanced performance under technical constraints.
Across the six weeks, students will shoot three scenes designed to highlight range, presence, and on-camera mastery—building material that is not only reel-worthy but demonstrates readiness for professional sets and competitive casting environments.
Mathieu's Bio:
Mathieu Taillefer is a versatile film and media professional with more than a decade of expertise in cinematography, lighting design, VFX, audio post-production, color grading, and directing. His work has been showcased on Netflix, UNIS TV, TVA, Amazon, and APTN, where he has overseen every production stage from conceptual lighting schemes to final color-grade delivery. He partners closely with actors at every level, from emerging talent to industry veterans, coaching nuanced on-camera performances, guiding precision blocking and marks, and ensuring seamless collaboration with multi-camera crews. A dedicated mentor, Mathieu empowers performers to hone emotional authenticity, adapt to last-minute technical changes and deliver confident, camera-ready work under any production conditions.
